Translume has an opening for an engineer with an interest in microfabrication. This is an R&D position which requires working both independently, and in collaboration with other members of the team. The successful candidate will have a high degree of deductive reasoning, be precise, and well organized. This position also involves a small amount of production related tasks.
BS degree, preferably in engineering or science.
Familiarity with femtosecond lasers, wet etching, physical vapor deposition, and work in cleanroom not required, but considered a plus
Ann Arbor, Michigan. Work performed at Translume and occasionally at the Lurie Nanofabrication Facility (LNF) located on the U. of Michigan North Campus.
Perform tasks associated with the development of new fabrication processes, and/or new device micro-fabrication
Assess process under development
Schedule / plan tasks ahead
Maintain careful records of all development activities
Develop and follow safety protocols
Obtain and maintain LNF tool/process certifications as needed to work in the LNF cleanroom
Operate laser workstations, including loading and unloading, alignment, starting and monitoring production job
Assess quality of fabricated parts
Maintain careful records of all production activities
U.S. Citizenship is required, or lawful permanent resident status.
