Machined with Translume's patented fabrication processes, our T-Channel Chips have the following features:
Dimensions of chip = 1 inch wide x 2 inches long x 1.5 millimeters thick (0.5mm cover and 1mm plate bonded together; thickness does not include luer fittings).
These chips consist of a two channels crossing each other, etched into a bottom plate, with a second plate bonded on top. The top plate has 1mm access holes placed above both ends of each of the underlying channels.
Luer fittings have been fitted to these access holes to permit easy injection of fluids.
This video shows a Translume chip in action. The beads flowing through the channel are up to 30 microns in diameter. As you can see the deep aspect ratio Translume offers, compared to other processes, is useful.
If you would like a different version of this chip than what is shown (different size, channel dimensions, lid, connectors, etc.) please contact us so we can give you a quote. For example, we can regularly make versions of our chips for inverted microscopes with an upside-down configuration and a 170um-thick clear base. Our manufacturing process is flexible and we can get you what you need. To save time with your design, you can click to download a Solidworks drawing.
