Please note that our luer lock connectors are attached to the glass chips/flow cells with industrial epoxy. Translume does not warrant that they are compatible with specific liquids. When you clean your Translume chips/flow cells, we recommend that you use liquids like modest amounts of soapy water. Avoid cleaning them with fluids incompatible with polyamide resin.
Also available with our standard chips, you will see that you can select to receive your chips with some male luer connectors to help you inerface with tubes and hoses in your lab. You can select either the ValuePlastics MTLL004-06 for tubes with 1/16" (1.6mm) innner diameters or the MTLL013-5 for tubes for tubes with 1/8" (3.2mm) inner diameter.
More About Luer Lock Connectors: Luer is a standardized system of small-scale plumbing fittings used for making leak-proof connections between a male-taper fitting and its mating female part on medical and laboratory instruments, including tubes, hoses, hypodermic syringe tips and needles or stopcocks and needles. Key features of Luer Taper connectors are defined in the ISO 594-1 standards. There are two varieties of Luer Taper connections: Luer Lock and Luer Slip. Luer Lock fittings are securely joined by means of a tabbed hub on the female fitting which engages threads on the male fitting. Luer Slip fittings simply conform to Luer taper dimensions and are held together by friction. There are many other lab supply and industrial supply companies that sell connectors. Check with your favorite lab supply company. We use luer locks because they are preferred by most of our customers and it is an inexpensive standard.
