The process accuracy is on the order of 10 micron or better. This microstructuring capability can be combined with our other processes to create unique devices.
In fact, Translume now has the unique capability to make MEMS devices and other micromechanical structures from glass, composed of flexible moving parts. As an example, the company is now developing a microstage-based sensor for monitoring the lubricity and viscosity of fluids. Click here for a QuickTime video demonstration of this new technology. In addition, Translume can now fabricate flexures from glass that are resistant to deformation from long-term use. We can make these to your specifications.
